CONGRATULATIONS to Erin Oeltjen for being named the Midwestern Swimming 11-12 Girls Swimmer of the Year! This is a tremendous honor as Erin was selected for this award for both the short and long course seasons. Erin also set a new Midwestern Record in the 11-12 girls 200 meter backstroke this past summer. We are very proud of you Erin!!
The new MAC web site is now "live". To utilize this website fully, you will need to be "approved" by the site administrator after enrolling. Most of the information dispersed from now on will require a username and password. You must be a current MAC member to enroll and take advantage of all the new options. This will also be required for meet registration and important updates and/or urgent notices. If you do not enroll, it is very possible that pertinent information will be missed. This will be a more secure site than in the past and as you are "approved", there will be opportunities to post messages on message boards. There will not be a chance to abuse this privilege as your name will appear with all postings submitted by you or somebody that uses your username and password. Anybody that does try to abuse the privileges afforded by the new format will be removed as a user of the site. Also, you will have the option to receive website updates through email and text messaging. For instance, if a facility needs to close and practice would have to be cancelled on short notice, you would get an instant update on your phone. No information will be shared with other persons or groups. Thanks for your patience as the technology people get this up and running!! NOTE: Several of the 200 + people that have enrolled as a member up to this point have opted to NOT be notified via text message of any urgent notices or changes. This will be an invaluable communication device and we strongly encourage you to consider changing your log in set up to reflect this option. You will need to email the MACWebmaster in order to do this as your account was locked when verified and approved. Keep in mind that entry deadlines, pool closings, short notice calendar changes and such will be sent directly to your cell phone. During the high school season, if the dual meet format would change at the last moment for one reason or another (as it did several times last year and MAC practice groups were affected) - you would be notified immediately. If the weather turned nasty shortly before a scheduled practice time and buildings had to close, you would be notified directly on your cell phone. Every change made to the website WILL NOT be sent to your cell phone or email - only very urgent postings or significant reminders. It is still your responsibility to check YOUR practice group calendar often, as it may have announcements that the Master Practice group calendar does not have. Each group has its own calendar!! Also, as an approved member you now have access to ’Meet Registration’ under the "Meets" link. Let our technology people know if you have any questions. Thanks!
